A CASTLE FOR MANDY
She needs a safe place where she can hide from the demons that chase her inside her mind. "It's a castle, Mom." She told me one day. "There's this castle that I can sometimes find, but not always. Sometimes they get to the door before I do and I can't get by them." I did the only thing I knew to do. I committed the castle to thread and fabric. I invited the Lady to sit with me while I stitched. "The doors to this castle are ever open to her." I repeated with each stitch. "None that chases her in her mind may enter nor block her from entering nor from emerging." Betsy Foster | |||
