Dark Mother
The Dark Mother's stage is that of impending and actual death. She is the Queen of Shadows at the end of desire, at the end of life's pursuit. She stands at the portal between life and death. She must take her own private journey into the unknown. She is often scorned in this culture, due to our overriding fear of death. Yet elsewhere she is recognized and honored.
