WOMEN TOGETHER

Reason/Purpose: I originally built this on a whim after finding the husk dolls at a yard sale. They reminded me of domestic women working together while caring for the children, a comforting and powerful image for me. One that states the importance for women/sisters/mothers to 'be' together in body and spirit. I set this up often in different settings in my home.

Location: The setting in this picture is a shelf in the living room entertainment center.

Objects & Their Symbolism:

Colors: I used the pink flowers around the candle to represent the harmony, peaceful communication and friendship between these women. I like the burgundy doily as a base because it matches nicely with the pink in the flowers, although sometimes when I set this up I do use a green doily to represent earth and their solid connection to it while they work.

Amethyst: Calm-Grounding-Intuition

Pine Cone: Of the earth and is large enough to look like a tree next to the dolls.

Chant/Prayer/Meditation: When I stand before this altar I always feel like smiling. I feel the deeply moving current of my ancient sisters working together, talking while they work, helping one another, 'being' together in the way women are intended to be.
